Follow Actions The Follow Action Chance slider now displays a split triangle instead of just a black bar when it is showing multiple different values.

Interface Updated various Help View lessons. Updated some Japanese and Chinese info text translations. The Overload Indicator is disabled by default for new Live 11 installations. Live’s performance is improved when deselecting many clips at once. The background color of lane headers is now consistent with the Notes tab. Clicking on a lane with a standby selection now selects that lane instead of collapsing the time selection.

When the Expression tab is open, using the “Zoom to Clip Selection” command or “Z” key shortcut now adjusts the zoom level according to pitch bend values contained in the time selection.

It is now possible to clear all per-note Pitch, Slide and Pressure expression envelopes of a note at once by using the “Clear All Envelopes” entry in the context menu of the per-note expression breakpoint editor.

Changing the foreground clip from the Clip View updates the highlighting of the track in both the Session View and Arrangement View and the scene corresponding to the new foreground clip. Clicking on a clip’s multi-clip loop bar in the Clip View updates the highlighted track, even if this clip is already the foreground clip.

Plug-in devices now look similar to built-in Ableton devices when disabled. Note: this is only visible in the system’s CPU monitor, not in Live’s audio processing meter. When low polyphony and unison voices are set, less CPU usage should be shown.

Wavetable: Added support for Drum Rack choke groups to the Wavetable device. Updated the notification style for scenes, and updated the scene name visualization to include the absolute position, tempo and time signature on Push.

Adjusting multiple encoders while recording automation now creates less undo steps on Push 1 and 2. It is now possible to rename multiple selected scenes simultaneously. In the Session View’s Track Status display, the remaining play time of an unlooped clip now always displays the seconds with two digits e. Control Surfaces Added control surface support for the Roland Fantom.

Specifically: The Rewind and Fastforward buttons will now rewind and fastforward the Arrangement position. Turning the Encoder will now scroll the Session frame up and down. Holding the Encoder down and turning it will scroll the selected Scene up and down.

Fixed an issue where the Session frame was visible even when the hardware was not connected. Fixed a crash that could occur when restoring the Arrangement View’s zoom state using the “Z” keyboard shortcut after deleting a take lane.

Fixed a crash that could occur when clicking in a track’s main lane after track content had been selected during recording, under certain circumstances. Previously, mixer controls in linked tracks would still be linked when selecting a take lane, after multiple track headers had previously been selected.

Arrangement clip headers no longer have an uneven appearance. Previously, an Arrangement clip header would not be displayed as having a standby selection when the focus was moved away. Previously, it was not possible to unlink all tracks when some tracks were nested inside a Group Track. Fixed a crash that occurred when inserting a take lane. Previously, the Operator device could crash or calculate inaccurate frequencies when its Fixed Mode and Spread parameters were enabled.

Switching between oscillator effects in the Wavetable device now changes labels within each matrix as expected. Previously in the Spectral Resonator and Spectral Time devices, gaps would sometimes appear in the Spectrogram at high frequencies. A Max for Live device’s background color now updates correctly after moving that device between tracks.

Fixed two bugs in the MPE Control device: The Pressure curve would not follow Live’s themes when the device was instantiated while using the Dark theme. The Launch Macro Variation button can be mapped as expected again.

Fixed a crash that could occur when dragging an empty frozen MIDI clip to an audio track. Fixed a crash that could occur when freezing a track after recording, under certain circumstances. Fixed the alignment of the Launch text label that appears in the expanded view of the Clip View’s Clip box. Previously, when copying a folder with audio files to another folder which was already in Places, the files would not appear in the browser.

Previously, when saving a Live Set file such as a clip or preset in the root folder of the temporary current Project, that file would not be copied over to the final destination Project. Previously, resizing the Device View, as a result of switching to the Arrangement View, while no clip was selected would result in automation lanes having the wrong height when switching back to the Session View.

Previously, using Tempo Follower and Tap Tempo at the same time could create a conflict with Live’s tempo. To prevent this, Tempo Follower is now disabled as long as Tap Tempo is active. Previously, the waveform of an audio clip in the Detail View would be displayed in a dimmed color, although that clip was not audible while Audition Mode was enabled.

Using pinch gestures to zoom once again works in expression lanes. Previously, the vertical zoom level and scroll position in the MIDI Note Editor were sometimes wrong when switching from the Expression tab to the Notes tab. It also cannot be minimized anymore. These changes highlight that the second window is not a stand-alone window, but secondary to the main window.

When switching virtual desktops, floating windows are no longer shown on the new virtual desktop. When using virtual desktops, floating windows e. Fixed a bug that enabled performing certain actions e. Previously, the selection on an auditioned take lane would look different when Draw Mode was active. Previously, adding a device via double-clicking could create two undo steps. Fixed a performance regression when loading a Live Set with many devices. Fixed an issue where a Rack’s selector buttons for chains and devices would swap places, under certain circumstances.

Fixed various minor UI alignment and sizing issues that affected other elements within Racks. Fixed a spacing issue in Drum Racks. In all Racks, the Rand and Map buttons now always align with the right border of the Macro Controls section, and they appear as “R” and “M” when six or less Macro Controls are shown. Fixed a bug that generated false disk overload indications, even when no sample dropouts occurred.

Previously, Link would not become disabled when opening a new Set. Fixed a crash when unfolding a nested Group Track containing a selected clip. The Pitch control in the Clip View’s Sample tab once again works as expected when multiple clips are selected.

The Clip Activator button once again works as expected. Previously, after selecting a Group Track header, the track highlight would sometimes immediately jump to a track within that Group Track.

Max for Live Sending a getpath message to a live. Sending a getpath message to a live. Replacing a licensed Max for Live device with an unlicensed one no longer creates a “fake” device that informs the user of a missing license. Also, it is no longer possible to inadvertently trigger Temporary Demo Mode when attempting to perform another action that breaches any current limitations, in cases where a “fake” device was created.

When enabled, the Scale aka Fold to Scale button becomes disabled instead of grayed out whenever folding to scale is not possible. Previously, when the Expression tab was visible, making a rectangular selection of a single note in the MIDI Note Editor would incorrectly set the focus to pitch bend expression editing. Fixed a bug that could cause notes to be affected by expression parameters including pitch bend from previous notes. Previously, when the Expression tab was open and the MIDI Note Editor was folded, zooming to selected notes would sometimes scroll out of view.

Session View When using a device parameter’s “Show Automation” or “Show Modulation” context menu command while a Session clip is playing, Live now switches to the Envelopes tab in the Clip View when no clip is selected.

Shift-clicking on an empty track slot in the Session View no longer changes the scene and track highlighting. Previously, the Follow Action Time marker was sometimes displayed at the wrong position in unwarped clips. Improved the text contrast in the Session View’s Track Status display for unlooped clips. Previously, when triggering a scene with assigned Follow Actions after stopping Live’s transport, that scene’s tempo was not respected.

The “Stop” Follow Action now works as expected for scenes. Setting the scene tempo or time signature from the Python API Max and Push will enable the respective scene control and display the correct value being set. The Live manual has been updated. The name consists of the track name without the leading index number , and an index of the take number.

Upon creating a MIDI clip in the Arrangement View, the grid will start at a fixed sixteenth-note setting, as opposed to narrow-adaptive.

A new “Create Crossfades On Clip Edges” command creates four-millisecond crossfades on clip edges, when either a single or multiple adjacent whole clips are selected, or when a time selection contains more than two adjacent clips. Also, when a track’s main lane is selected, only that lane’s height is affected.

Multiple selected automation lanes or take lanes can be resized by dragging the resize handles with the mouse. When holding the “ALT” modifier, all selected automation lanes or take lanes are resized simultaneously, similar to tracks.

A previous lane header selection is preserved after folding and immediately unfolding tracks again or when toggling Automation Mode. When using the Zoom to Time Selection command in the Arrangement, Live now only zooms horizontally at first. When using the command a second time without changing the time selection , Live then zooms vertically as well. Upon using the command a third time, the Arrangement returns to the first vertical zoom state.

Automation Updated background and text colors for lane headers and clip backgrounds in Automation Mode. Automation lane headers are now selectable with the mouse. Clicking on an automation lane header now highlights that lane. Clicking on a selected lane’s Remove Automation Lane “-” button now removes all selected automation lanes. Clicking on an unselected lane’s Remove Automation Lane button removes only that lane. Browser Improvements A “Templates” label has been added to the Categories section of the browser.

A “Grooves” label has been added to the Categories section of the browser. It shows a flat list, similar to that within the Clips and Samples labels, of all Grooves from the Core Library as well as the User Library.

Devices in the Audio Effects label are now grouped into folders. The nodes can be expanded to reveal presets. Presets outside of matching virtual folders are shown below the last virtual folder. Drum Synth devices are now grouped in their own folder within the Instruments label.

The Clip Gain slider has been moved below the Transpose controls, and is now a text slider control. The Transpose control now has a dial control for transposing in semitones, and a text slider control for fine-tune in cents previously named “Detune”.

Removed the Clip Color chooser from the Clip box. It is now possible to rename or change the color of a selected clip via the Clip box’s context menu. Comping Introduced comping in the Arrangement View. Recording in the Arrangement View automatically creates a clip in a take lane. Take lane clips can be edited like other Arrangement clips e. They can also be copied to Session View clip slots by either copying and pasting or dragging and dropping.

This also works when there is a selection of clips or time across multiple tracks, and when take lanes are hidden. Note: empty take lanes are ignored. Take lane headers are selectable with the mouse. Clicking on a take lane header highlights that lane. Multiple selected take lanes can also be renamed simultaneously. Selected take lanes can be reordered within their track via dragging and dropping. Take lanes can be selected and renamed during recording.

Take lane headers have a default info text. The info text of take lane headers can be edited using the Edit Info Text command from the context menu or the Edit menu. Control surface scripts that can control multiple banks of device parameters can now control the second set of eight Macro Controls i. Follow Actions Follow Actions controls can now be shown or hidden via the triangular toggle button in the title bar of the Clip View. Follow Actions can now be assigned to scenes via the new Scene View.

Clip Follow Actions will continue to run when a scene Follow Action is created or scheduled, however scene Follow Actions take precedence when triggered. When disabled, no Follow Actions will occur in the Live Set, which allows editing running clips while preventing playback from jumping to other clips. These values can be modified using a new slider control. This marker also allows dragging the clip’s Follow Action Time.

Added a new “Jump” Follow Action to clips and scenes. This switch is set to “Linked” by default. When the switch is set to “Linked”, the Follow Action is triggered at the end of the clip or after the number of loops set in the “Follow Action Multiplier” field, and the Follow Action Time marker but cannot be moved. When the switch is set to “Unlinked”, the Follow Action is triggered after the clip has played for the duration of the Follow Action Time.

Added a “Create Follow Action Chain” command to the context menu of Session clips, making it possible to set up Follow Actions so that all selected clips play in a loop.

The clip selection does not have to be contiguous. The percentage shown on the meter indicating either the average or peak CPU level can be selected from the CPU meter dropdown menu. The Overload indicator previously named the “Disk Overload” indicator in the Control Bar has been redesigned, and will light up if a CPU overload has occurred.

Note: CPU overloads usually produce audio dropouts. Each track shows a CPU meter with six rectangles that light up to indicate the relative impact of that track on the CPU level of the current Set. Freezing or removing devices from the track with the largest impact will usually reduce the CPU load. This palette makes clips and tracks easier to tell apart with a deuteranopia, protanopia or tritanopia color vision deficiency. On Windows, the progress of dialogs such as the Export Audio dialog is now displayed in the taskbar.

Progress dialogs now show their progress value below the bar, for easier reading in all Themes. The scrollbar in the Help View now matches the colors of the scrollbar in the browser and the Groove Pool. The vertical zoom level on the piano roll is now increased when dragging horizontally on the Note Ruler. Added an “Arm Track” command to the Edit menu.

If multiple tracks are selected, the command appears as “Arm Tracks”. If the selected track is armed, the command is replaced with “Disarm Track”. It is now possible to arm selected tracks using the “C” shortcut key.

The Groove Pool now opens automatically when: loading a groove file from the browser by double-clicking or pressing the Enter key adding a groove to the Groove Pool e.

Linked-track editing makes it possible to use comping workflows and other phase-locked editing operations on multiple tracks at once. Any tracks in the Arrangement View can now be linked so that their content can be edited simultaneously. There can be multiple instances of linked tracks in a Set, however each track can only belong to one of these instances.

Linked tracks are indicated by a “link” icon button in their headers. Clicking on a track’s link icon selects all tracks that are linked together. Hovering a track’s link icon highlights tracks that are linked together.

Tracks can be linked by selecting them and then choosing “Link Tracks” from the context menu. To link tracks inside a Group Track, right-click on the Group Track header and choose “Link Tracks” from the context menu.

To unlink all tracks in an instance of linked tracks, right-click on the link icon button to select all tracks in that instance and open the context menu, and then choose “Unlink Track s ” from the context menu.

When unlinking tracks inside a Group Track, is it also possible to right-click on the Group Track header and choose “Unlink Track s ” from the context menu. To link an additional track to an instance of linked tracks, first click on the link icon button, to select all tracks in that instance.

To remove one or more tracks from an instance of linked tracks, select the corresponding track header s and choose “Unlink Track s ” from the context menu. Any subset of linked tracks, or a mix of linked and unlinked tracks, can be linked together by selecting their track headers and clicking the “Link Tracks” command in the context menu. The following controls and operations are synced on linked tracks: Track editing and time selection operations e.

When one or more track headers are selected, pressing “Shift” and clicking on a track’s link icon will select all tracks from the originally selected track to the newly-clicked track, as well as all linked tracks belonging to the linked track’s instance. Matching fades on linked tracks can be adjusted relative to their original values. Max for Live Improvements Updated the bundled Max build to version 8. The context menu of the controlled parameter now provides a “Go to Controlling Device” option.

A parameter that is controlled or automated by a Max for Live device will no longer incur a one-buffer delay in the signal sent by Max for Live, if the device containing the controlled parameter is positioned later than the Max for Live device in the device chain.

The sample rate of a Sample loaded in Simpler. The slices of a Sample loaded in Simpler. A Clip or Sample’s warp markers. Adding or removing Macro Controls in a Rack. Macro randomization. Macro Control variations. The Live Set’s Groove Pool. A Groove’s properties.

When editing multiple clips with different key and scale settings, any foreground clip with Scale Mode enabled now updates the global settings that are used to initialize the next created clips, as well as Push’s key and scale. When a selected clip has Scale Mode enabled and a scale is selected, pressing the new “Scale” “Fold to Scale” button at the right of the “Fold” button folds to key tracks containing notes, as well as key tracks belonging to the scale.

It is now possible to set a preference for spelling a clip’s notes with flats, sharps, or both, via the piano roll’s context menu. An additional “Auto” option automatically selects flats or sharps based on the position of the root note in the circle of fifths. The Chance Editor lane is hidden by default. The Velocity and Chance Editor lanes can be shown or hidden via the lane selector toggle buttons at the left. The Velocity and Chance Editor lanes can be resized individually via their split lines.

If no markers are selected, values for all notes will be randomized. The slider’s randomization value can be typed as a number with the keyboard, and triggers randomization when validated using the “Enter” key.

It is possible to edit probabilities for selected notes in Draw Mode. Updated the appearance of Velocity markers. It is now possible to edit velocity values for selected notes using numerical keys. It is now possible to see and edit a velocity range, from which a velocity value is selected when a note is played. In the Notes tab, a “Velocity Range” slider allows assigning velocity ranges to selected notes or all notes in a single clip, if none are selected. The velocity range is indicated by the shaded area between the horizontal handle and the velocity marker.

Double-clicking the velocity marker will reset the range to 0. It is now possible to choose between two different Draw Mode options. When enabled, drawing MIDI notes is constrained to one single key track or pitch at a time, while holding the “ALT” key allows freehand melodic drawing. When disabled, Draw Mode defaults to melodic drawing, and holding the “ALT” key enables pitch-locked drawing.

The “Melodic” Draw Mode can be used to erase notes, when drawing starts on an existing note. When a MIDI controller that has MPE Mode enabled is selected as an input device on a track, the channel input routing is fixed to “All Channels” and no individual channels can be selected. This makes it possible to refine the expression of recorded material, or to automate polyphonic sound variations for MPE-capable instruments.

With some graphics cards running on Windows, the Push 2 display process might frequently run into crashes with certain GPUs. The copied automation will always land in the correct lane. Automation When nudging a time selection in an automation lane, the automation outside the selection remains unchanged.

Enabled vertical auto-scrolling when dragging an automation lane. Additional automation lanes are now unfolded by default. Improved the horizontal movement of a range of automation segments.

Ramps are no longer created when a time selected range of automation is moved by nudging or dragging horizontally and is still partially within the original time range.

Fades no longer snap to the Arrangement View grid. When connected, the Novation Launchpad S and Launchpad Mini control surfaces are now automatically selected in the Preferences. Interface Improvements Improved Live’s perfomance when resizing audio clips in the Arrangement.

Added a gap between the handle and the track of the scrollbar in the Arrangement and Session View. Sharpened the appearance of the triangle that appears above bipolar knobs. Changed the color of Drum Rack label to increase visibility in the Dark Theme. Adjusted the spacing below Session View’s horizontal scrollbar so that it is centered. Adjusted the selection frame in device groups and corrected inconsistencies in the look and behaviour of the Sampler device. A track created by dropping a single clip into the Session or Arrangement View’s Drop Area now inherits the clip color instead of the source track color.

When dropping several clips at the same time, the new track still inherits the source track color, as before. Improved the playhead smoothness on Windows. Fixed permissions issues on macOS for non-Admin accounts. Updated documentation for the Live Object Model. Multi-core rendering in Live is now supported if a Set contains Max for Live devices. Previously, there was a possibility that all MIDI notes in a key could disappear when stretched to an extremely small size e. This has now changed, and further stretching is not possible once notes reach a very small size.

New Devices and Device Improvements Filter curve visualisations in Wavetable are updated in real time in cases where e. Setup On Windows, Live now cleanly shuts down when a user logs out, shuts the computer down or reboots it.

It also displays a message explaining why it is preventing the computer shutting down, giving the user 30 seconds to abort shutting down and save the Set. Updated various info texts. Wavetable In Wavetable’s Mod Matrix, the left column containing target names now features bars that indicate the unmodulated and modulated value of the respective parameter. Additive modulation is indicated by a bipolar bar starting from the unmodulated value, while multiplicative modulation is indicated by a unipolar bar starting from the left.

When Live’s transport is started or if there is a jump in beat time, Echo and Wavetable LFOs now update their phase if they are beat-synced. Previously, start and end markers for unwarped audio clips were erroneously quantized to the grid. Creating a warp marker could trigger scrolling of the selected clip under certain circumstances.

Previously it was not possible to adjust the loop start position in unwarped audio clips without quantization. A crash would occur when editing the crossfade between two very short clips. Fixed a crash when removing a device that showed a parameter in an additional automation lane while the mouse is hovering over the parameter’s automation. The “Select Track Content” context menu command would not work on multiple selected tracks.

Automation Previously, when copying an Arrangement clip with existing automation to another track, automation would not be copied even if the target track and source track contained identical devices. Also, if a track is created by dragging a clip into the Arrangement drop area, all automation is now copied over and set to the the correct time. Copying and pasting automation might lead to unexpected results, if the copied selection extended across multiple tracks.

When pressing the Option Alt key and clicking on a track’s Unfold Track button, the position of that track does not change. Live could crash on Windows when clicking on a breakpoint while holding the grid modifier.

Positioning fade handles with arrow keys was not working correctly. Browser AU plug-in default presets. Files from the “Current Project” label might fail to appear in the browser under certain circumstances. File types unsupported in certain editions and when run as a ReWire slave e. M4A audio files would not show up in Live’s browser anymore.

Control Surfaces Added bank definitions to Wavetable for third-party control surfaces. File Handling Previously it was not possible to delete files or directories with names containing slashes. Previously, toggling Automation Mode would create an Undo step. Plug-ins and Sets that are saved in directory junctions on Windows work again. Live would crash when launching the program by double-clicking a Live Set, in cases where the Live Set was corrupted.

Fixed a problem which might prevent AU presets from recalling correctly. Live’s window contents no longer briefly flicker after changes to a hardware display setup. Depending on the language used in Live, the progress of the crash recovery wasn’t visible on the splash screen because the text was clipped.

Improved the drag and drop handling on HiDPI screens. Previously, dragging a file from Explorer into Live would show the file at the wrong position in Live Windows only.

Fixed a bug which caused text to overflow on top of the frame containing the browser’s search field. Fixed a bug which caused clips to be incorrectly colored when readded to a Live Set, if an. Fixed a bug where sequences of visually short borderless notes would be nearly invisible if crowded into overlapping pixel areas. Fixed a minor visual issue affecting corners in grouped devices. Fixed a minor inconsistency in the height of notes in Arrangement clips and clip previews.

Upon loading a Live Set, the clip envelope parameter selection would not be restored in the Detail View. When double-clicking and dragging a slider control, the mouse cursor would not be hidden as expected, if Pen Tablet Mode was disabled.

Meters in Live’s mixer would appear as stuck when loading a Set. Improved UI performance on Windows when resizing Arrangement clips. Fixed a bug which incorrectly applied bold formatting to chunks of text in the Help View. If HiDPI was enabled on a Windows 10 machine, the preview of a dragged object either dragged within Live or into Live would appear offset.

If multiple audio clips were selected, changing a selection in the Detail View would create a wrong time selection in the Arrangement. Removed inconsistent extra spacing from the context menu entry “Add Lane for Each Automated Envelope” in automation lane headers.

Previously, some radio buttons in certain devices displayed unreadable text. On Windows, dropping files from Addictive Drums 2 into Live works again.

When renaming Arrangement clips, the wrong mouse cursor would be displayed, making it difficult to insert the cursor at the desired position. The grayed out text “Open Groove Pool On Windows, if a plug-in showed a modal dialog, the main window could not be closed while that dialog was being shown.

Horizontal sliders are now black instead of white in the Dark Theme this is particularly noticeable for plug-in device parameters in the Detail View. Restored Hints functionality. Live could crash when deleting a Max for Live device which had a fullscreen window. Live’s main window can no longer obscure all other windows when using Max for Live devices. The Max patcher window is now correctly sized on Windows. Text in message boxes would sometimes appear cut off.

Various nodesnames attribute improvements. Fixed issues with adding new objects to presentation mode. Seq object now properly records MIDI.

Firewall permissions dialog is appropriately suppressed in the Max for Live editor. HiDPI: improved drawing when changing Windows display settings. Max Authorization Window: improved wording and user options. Performing an Undo after Macro-mapping a Max parameter would leave that parameter unmapped and unusable. Live would crash when dragging a Live device on top of a Max for Live device. Mapping Device Rack Macros to a live. MIDI editor When folding an empty MIDI clip in a Drum Rack that contained at least one chain receiving all notes, the clip would fold to that chain only, whereas now the clip will not fold at all.

Also, when switching between audio clips while a warp marker was selected, the Seg. BPM box would erroneously show the tempo of the previously selected marker. This would also lead to jumps in the displayed waveform visualization when the tempo was adjusted. In a multi-clip editing scenario, notes of all clips are taken into account, whereas previously only the notes of the foreground clip were considered. Additionally, fixed a bug which prevented the vertical zoom state from initializing correctly under certain circumstances.

Fixed a few minor bugs in the MIDI Editor: when selecting one out of many selected notes, the selection would not revert to the selected note when opening the context menu while hovering over a background note, and then clicking outside of the context menu, the background note would remain in a hovered state when hovering over a background note, it was possible to highlight a momentarily invisible foreground note Multi Clip Editing Previously, the adaptive grid size of a newly created clip could sometimes be incorrectly calculated when multi-clip editing.

Navigation Tracks in the Arrangement View would scroll out of view completely when toggling Automation Mode if the highlighted track was not visible. When resizing an Arrangement track, only tracks whose header is selected will be resized. Previously, a track might be erroneously resized if a content selection existed on that track.

When scrolling up and down in the Arrangement View using a mousewheel, the view would only move in very small increments. Previously, when extracting a Drum Rack chain to a new track, the zoom level and time selection were erroneously applied to the newly created clip. When undoing the deletion of a note while in Arrangement View, the Clip View zoom level unexpectedly zoomed in to that note. Previously, scrolling the Arrangement’s mixer section with a mousewheel was not possible.

Previously, the time selection status display would not get updated when selecting a clip in the Arrangement. The grid modifier would not toggle the grid when changing the time selection or moving the insert marker with the arrow keys. Dragging a device over a Session return track header that overlapped a group device chain header would cause erratic scrolling in Session View.

Nested Groups Fixed a crash that occurred when duplicating a nested Group Track containing a plug-in with an active modal dialog while Live’s second window was open. New Devices and Device Improvements The Arpeggiator device could lead to crashes under certain circumstances. AU plug-in parameters might behave erratically when being controlled with the mouse, under certain circumstances. It was erroneously possible to tweak parameters in the expanded view of certain devices, even if the track was frozen.

Under certain circumstances, some Wavetable and Echo parameters would not respond smoothly. Simpler’s settings would not be recalled correctly, if the device was set to Slice by Beat and its playback was not warped. Echo’s timing would change when exporting audio at a different sample rate than the one currently in use. Under certain circumstances, Wavetable’s polyphonic voice stealing would cause certain notes to get stuck. A crash might occur when trying to preview a Live Clip in Live’s browser, if this referenced a Wavetable device.

The switches on the left side of the Glue Compressor device are now centered. Certain parameter names would be truncated in the left column of Wavetable’s Modulation Matrix. Dropping many samples onto a Simpler or a Drum Rack would take much longer in Live 10 than it did in Live 9. Live could crash when loading certain Wavetable presets from the Core Library. Setup Fixed a bug which caused a “Preferences. Fixed a crash which occurred on startup under certain circumstances. On certain Windows machines, attempting to authorize Live 10 would fail.

Live was not able to prevent entering Sleep mode or turning off the display on Windows. Wavetable The animated sliders beneath the modulation target names would occasionally not appear in Wavetable. Improved Wavetable’s impact on CPU under certain circumstances. Changes for Push: Push Improved the display of Live’s color palette on third-party control surfaces. Updated Push 2’s firmware to version 1. This version contains the updated color palette for Live Envelope visualizations are now available for Wavetable on Push 2.

It is now possible to select wavetables in the Wavetable device on Push 1. Push bugfixes: Push The clip color palette for Push 1 was updated to match the Live 10 color palette. Fixed a scenario where Push 2’s display could crash when hot-swapping AU plug-in presets. The Note Settings view would close after touching an encoder, if all notes were being edited Push 1 and Push 2. It is now possible to copy, paste, duplicate and nudge a time selection that spans across automation lanes in multiple tracks.

When an Arrangement selection resides on an automation lane, the text for nudging changes from “Nudge Clip s ” to “Nudge Envelope s “. While dragging MIDI clips, notes are drawn in the range of the target track. This enables seeing the content of the clips in the context of the target track. Automation It is now possible to extend a selection from an automation lane to the content lane of the same track.

Introduced a “micro-snapping” behavior: clips, loop markers and warp markers snap to a grid line even if the grid is off, if the distance to that grid line does not exceed 1 pixel. Browser It is now possible to add Factory Packs content to Collections.

Capture Capture can now change the Set tempo, if a preferable interpretation is found. When overdubbing a loop in the Session View, Capture will choose the loop iteration with a significant amount of new material in it. This is achieved via a context menu by right-clicking on the plug-in device either in the browser or in the Detail View.

If the setting is disabled, the plug-in will appear much smaller in size, but this helps in cases where the mouse would behave erratically when trying to interact with the plug-in UI.

Improved the zoom cursor design to increase its visibility with all Themes. When dropping a sample on a Drum Rack pad, its border now appears in black or white instead of orange , depending on the Theme in use.

Improved the ‘Live 9’ Theme. When editing multiple clips while zoomed out of the MIDI Editor, notes are now displayed in a shaded version of their clip color, so it is easier to identify to which clip they belong to. The color of the little ticks that indicate a boundary between two very small notes has also been adjusted to improve readability. Finally, in order to make high-precision note editing easier, notes are no longer displayed as selected when they are being controlled by the mouse e.

Level meter ticks now match the color of the dB labels beside them. Changed the width of tracks created by dragging and dropping something into Live. Updated the Mid-Dark and Dark Themes. Added minor color changes to Automation Mode. The Solo buttons have been updated to fit the new font. Improved the appearance of the Solo button icons. Minor improvements to the title bar of the multi-clip editor. Updated Ableton Sans Font: enabled use of additional diacritical marks, and correctly positioned them at the height of lower-case characters.

Increased the opacity of the clip content in Automation Mode. Live support exchanging SysEx messages with Max. Mixing The number of audio-in buses for plug-ins has been increased to a total of eight inputs. Multi Clip Editing Improved the behavior of the Fold button when editing multiple clips at the same time. Scrubbing in MIDI Clips now works when multi-clip editing: – Scrubbing in the Session View will play the clips as if they had been started at the same time, i.

If the current selection contains several clips from the same track, clips will be chosen from each track in the following order: foreground clip, playing clip, triggered clip, first clip of the track. Scrubbing is currently disabled if one of the clips is frozen. Note: the trigger line that shows where the clip s would start during the trigger state does not yet support multiple clips.

This will be addressed in the future. Additional bugfixes: – Previously, the freeze layer on top of the scrub area was not shown for frozen MIDI clips. Improved the behavior of the Fold button when editing multiple clips at the same time. Navigation Audio tracks will be automatically named by the clips that are added onto them. If there is a single session or arrangement clip in a track, then the name of the track will follow the name of that clip.

If more clips are added, the track will stick with whatever name it got when there was only one clip. If all clips are removed from the track, the track will return to its default name. Refined zooming behavior in the Arrangement, to avoid scenarios where the view would jump to the middle of a selection if only one edge of the selection was currently visible.

Follow is now paused while breakpoints are created. Additionally, when replacing a sample already loaded into Simpler, the new sample will retain all the Warp and Loop settings. Added performance improvements to Wavetable and Echo.

Real-time modulation signals are now visible at the top of Wavetable’s Modulation Matrix. Reduced the memory footprint of Wavetable. Also reduced occurrences of clicks in the audio when stealing voices. Macro-mapped controls in Wavetable now appear in the Modulation Matrix. Improved Wavetable’s LFO display to make the visualization smoother and more consistent. Wavetable’s Modulation Matrix headers are now clickable, allowing to jump to the respective modulation source panel.

This reduces energy use and heat, and improves battery life. Copying an Arrangement clip in Session View could create additional unwanted Session clips, under certain circumstances. Live would crash when loading a Live Set, if one of the tracks contained very short clips, and at least one clip was set to “Master” tempo in the Arrangement.

The Segment BPM box is now only editable when a single warp marker is selected. Also, when an audio clip’s Warp switch is activated, or when an audio clip is selected, the first warp marker is now selected and the box is consequently editable. Nudging selected material in the Arrangement might lead to unexpected results, when entering or exiting Automation Mode after creating a selection. When deleting part of a clip within a fade-in, the fade-in no longer spans the empty space.

Fixed a crash that occurred when copying a time selection on a track containing Send automation, under certain circumstances. Nudging clips in the Arrangement was not possible when the time selection was made by dragging from right to left. When nudging a selection on an automation lane, the automation would be copied instead than moved.

When dragging transient markers with the Shift modifier pressed, the transient markers would be deleted instead of moved. Live would crash when moving at least three clips under certain circumstances. Bugfixes for time selection in Detail View for MIDI clips: when clicking the time selection header with an expanded time selection, the time selection would be lost.

Fixed a bug which prevented nudging Arrangement clips correctly, under certain conditions. Additionally, undoing the deletion of a clip could prevent the time selection from being restored.

Live could crash when copying a frozen clip from Arrangement View to Session View. Additionally, it is now possible to drag frozen clips from Arrangement View to Session View. Live could crash when extending the Arrangement Loop to very large time values. The clip content of the content lane and the main automation lane would visually “jump” by a small amount when toggling Automation Mode. Moving a non-quantized Warp Marker via arrow keys did not work at certain zoom levels.

Immediately dragging a Warp Marker after its creation would not work, if the Warp Marker was not created on the top of a transient marker. The grid modifier was not working when dragging immediately after the creation of a Warp marker.

Adjusting multiple clip Gain settings at once would take an unusually long time. Automation Live would crash when importing a track with Send automation into a Set containing no return tracks. Fixed a bug that affected content selection behavior in the Arrangement, in cases where a previously existing parameter was removed by e.

Arrangement automation is no longer lost when duplicating a device using the Duplicate command. Clips no longer lose their MIDI controller or warping parameter modulation envelopes when dragged to a different track in the Arrangement. Copying, pasting and nudging a non-contiguous selection in automation lanes for multiple tracks could lead to erratic results.

Fixed the shape of the right-most automation segment’s active mouse area. On Windows, automation curve editing is now only possible if the modifier was already pressed at the time of the mouse-down, to avoid disabling the grid instead. When moving the fade-in end past the fade-out start and then back within the same mouse gesture, the fade-out start would not be restored to its prior length. Moving the fade-in start could affect the fade-out start even though they were not touching.

An unexpected fade-in would erroneously appear after removing a crossfade from two crossfading clips. Unwanted time signature automation would be created when duplicating time, if the time selection was not aligned to bar boundaries. The Automation Mode “A” shortcut key toggle was not mentioned in the respective menu entry. A wrong grid quantization was applied when creating breakpoints in proximity of a breakpoint segment while the grid was set to “Off”.

Added various improvements for adding and editing automation breakpoints. Glue Compressor’s “Release” parameter. Automation lanes would not be deselected after folding a track and creating a selection in a different track. When selecting the automation lane in a nested track, the Group Track’s automation lane would erroneously retain the selection, if this previously existed.

It is now possible to drag an automation lane time selection to the content lane of any track. Previously, this was restricted to the same track. Browser When one of the the Packs folders was favored, browsing its sub-folders via Collections might display the wrong content. Live would crash when trying to relocate a missing user folder in the browser, if the user folder was the root of a drive. When selecting an audio file in the browser, the wrong file would be previewed if a sample with the same name was previously selected.

Folders listed under Collections labels could exclusively be sorted by name. The browser color labels would not update correctly in some situations. When displaying the second browser column, this appeared empty until its label was clicked once. Capture When overdubbing in Session View, only one loop iteration is created before the new captured material. File Handling Live would crash when restoring a Live Set after a crash, in cases where the Live set had been saved after undoing a manoeuvre.

A crash would occur when adding a folder to Places, if the folder name contained an emoji character. Under certain circumstances, recovering a Live Set after a crash was not possible. Live could crash during a crash recovery under certain circumstances. Live could crash when loading a clip under certain circumstances. Changes to the Global Launch Quantization were not undoable when applied via the ‘Options’ menu. Live would crash when an AU plug-in instance which couldn’t be loaded was removed from a Set.

The indexer process could crash on OS X when saving songs,if their filename contained slashes. Also, fixed a bug that caused the loading of a lesson accompanying a Live Set to fail, if the song had a slash in its file name. Live would crash during a Live Set recovery, if the original file name contained certain caracters. Improved the logic in the mechanism for importing MIDI files in Live, which previously could lead to unexpected results.

If an audio file’s name contained certain characters, those characters would not be correctly displayed when importing the file in Live. When undoing an action after Saving a set, saving the Set again was not possible.

Increased the preloaded sample file regions for warped samples in Simpler, in order to prevent sporadic drop-outs. The Undo history would be compromised in cases where the Max installation could not be found, or Max could not be started. Furthermore, Live would endlessly attempt to load referenced patches, when Max was not available. Solved an issue where drop-down menus might appear misplaced on Windows, in multi-monitor configurations.

Items in the Global Quantization drop-down menu would not be highlighted when hovering with the mouse. Improved the handling of multiple program windows on Windows. Previously, Live occasionally prevented bringing other programs to the foreground. Improved the responsiveness of interactions in the Arrangement UI e.

In the Session View, clip envelope modulation was displayed in the wrong color. FIxed a bug which, under certain circumstances, might cause certain UI elements to disappear. Adjusted a visual inconsistency in the gap between the meters and devices. Previously, the cursor would inadvertently move away when clicking in the beat-time ruler, if Follow was active.

Improved the readability of the text that appears in a plug-in device when the device is not available, when the Mid-Dark and Dark Themes are in use. When performing a drag and drop of a track into a Group Track in the Session View, the vertical drop indicator would not be displayed correctly. The resize mouse cursor would not be shown in the Arrangement Overview, under certain conditions. Scrolling in the Arrangement might lag severely on Windows, under certain circumstances.

Animations and meters would temporarily freeze during mouse movements, under certain conditions. Applied a lighter color to the Electric device so that the parameter labels are readable in all Themes.

It was not possible to input alternate characters from the character candidate window on OS X, when renaming items in Live. The height of default MIDI and audio tracks and tracks created by dropping devices is now the same. Added minor visual improvements to the Mapping Browser. The background color of the “Arrangement Position” field in the Control Bar was displayed incorrectly when Link or the Metronome count-in were enabled. The text for the Tension device’s toggle buttons would fail to appear when using a Dark Theme.

When a Dark Theme was in use, selected Rack Chains might fail to display certain icons. When a non-contiguous selection exists in the Arrangement, no selection color is visible in the gaps between two non-selected tracks anymore. Adjusted the width of the clip preview in Session View while performing a drag and drop action. Fixed a bug which could cause the text in the Help View to be truncated by the scrollbar. The values of small parameter dials would change color upon selection, if the Dark Theme was in use.

The Group Track icon would clash with the track name in Session View, if the track was resized to the smallest possible width. The track title text in Session View would change its color automatically when resized to the shortest width, if the Mid Dark Theme was in use.

Adjusted the text color in the Preferences, so that it looks correct in all Themes. On Windows, the size and position of the second window would not be remembered when closing and opening it again. On Windows, Live’s windows and dialogs would occasionally flash briefly when appearing on screen. Fixed the selection color for rows within the ‘Groove Pool’. Corrected the text color for minimized track headers. The color of a Default Track set in Live 9 now correctly translates in Live When dragging a clip with a long name containing a Rack into an empty track, or when pasting it into an empty track, the track title in the Session View would overlap with the Chain Mixer ‘Fold’ button.

The Arrangement Group Track header drop marker was drawn one pixel too far to the left. When the peak meter is lit, the peak meter text is now visible in the Dark Theme. Active Grooves displayed a wrong text color in the first field of the Groove Pool, if the Dark Theme was in use. Changed the text color for all status bar alerts, to increase its readability when using the Dark Theme.

Max for Live improvements Fixed a bug in the Drum Synths which prevented the correct decay value from being used, if this updated at the same time that a note message was sent.

It is now possible to finely adjust Max for Live device parameters using the “Shift” modifier, as for all other Live devices. Max for Live devices would steal the keyboard focus from Live’s UI.

Removed the “defaults” Object Defaults menu from the Options menu on Windows. Fixed a bug which caused focus rectangles to go missing. Fixed adjusting sizes of boxes upon loading. When multi-clip editing, it was erroneously possible to select and edit notes in a frozen background clip.

Navigation When renaming an item in Live, the cursor would end in the wrong position if the text was selected and one of the arrow keys was pressed.

Auto-zoom no longer occurs in the Detail View when moving the clip loop using the arrow keys. Follow is temporarily disabled during scrubbing. This also fixes a bug where, if Follow was active, changing the clip’s play position might lead to unexpected results. Follow would not be paused when adjusting fade handles.

After a user interaction paused Follow, it was necessary to click the Follow button twice in order to re-enable it. Live would crash when a Group Track was duplicated, if it contained a VST plug-in which opens a dialog whenever duplicated e.

Dragging older uncolored Sets from the browser into an existing Session might lead to a crash. Coping and pasting multiple clips at once could lead to unexpected results if some of the clips originated from nested Group Tracks. In some cases, pasted clips would end up in the wrong target track, if the copied selection was across nested Group Tracks. New Devices and Device Improvements Live would crash when moving or grouping a track containing Wavetable, if Push 2 was in use and Device Mode was displayed.

Moving parameters in a device could lead to some tiny noise bursts if the device was processed by Drum Buss. The text in the Reverb device’s Decay Time field would not fit in some cases.

Audio artefacts would affect Wavetable when modulating its parameters via Aftertouch or Mod Wheel. Previously, it was not possible to map Wavetable parameters to Macros from the device’s expanded view.

Wavetable now supports sustain pedals. Added various UI improvements to Wavetable. Under certain circumstances, the Wavetable’s Filter Drive slider would have no effect. Addtionally, Wavetable’s ‘Glide’ parameter would not work as expected. Live could crash when hot-swapping the Wavetable device, if the device was inside an Instrument Rack. After changing the language in the Preferences and changing it back to the initial language, Live would revert to the first language chosen upon program launch, instead of the last language chosen.

Added a debug option to Live 10 which allows restricting the maximum number of real-time audio threads when Live is running in ReWire slave mode, to prevent performance issues when Live is running as ReWire slave with certain DAWs on Windows, if a CPU with 16 or more cores is in use. This can be enabled via the following debug option in the Options.

This will force Live to run its audio engine in single-threaded mode when running as a ReWire slave. If Live is running standalone i. Fixed a regression which caused number input boxes to steal all keyboard input once touched , and thus preventing the MIDI keyboard, normal single letter shortcuts, etc. Numbers typed into number input boxes would not overwrite existing values, but only insert new digits, and it was possible to edit unsupported characters into number boxes.

Fixed minor typos in info text translations. A memory leak might occur when certain previously available plug-ins were not allowed to launch e. An unusually high CPU usage would occur if a Live Set made use of several plug-ins whose parameters were configured in Live. The name of the undo action when importing MIDI and audio files was wrong.

Additionally, it is now possible to import MIDI and audio files when the selection is on an automation lane. Added a filter visualization for Auto Filter on Push 2. Added a visualization to Operator’s Filter bank on Push 2. Introduced additional icons to the Global bank for Wavetable on Push 2. Updated Wavetable’s Unison Mode icons on Push 2. Updated the Push 2 color palette.

On Push 2’s display, “On” and “Off” values now appear in title case instead of uppercase. It is now possible to control Wavetable’s Poly Voices parameter from Push.

Improved the look of Operator’s ‘Algorithm’ icons on Push 2. Improved the way filter curves appear on Push, by drawing an opaque background. Push Note Layouts On Push 2, the state of a track e.

The routing position chooser on Push 2 would not indicate the correct position. Deleting a track in a nested Group Track from Push would not work under certain circumstances. It was not possible to add a track with Push, if the currently selected track was frozen. Occasionally, it was not possible to leave note settings or step automation modes on Push 2.

Additionally, it was not possible to step-automate the Semi parameter from Push. The Push display process would use an unusual high amount of CPU when idling, which could occasionally lead to the laptop fan to kick in as soon as Push 2 initialized. When switching from Filter 1 to Filter 2 in Wavetable’s Filter bank from Push 2, Filter 1’s filter circuit would still be shown if the highpass filter type was selected.

Under certain circumstances, a device might erroneously appear disabled on Push 2. It was previously not possible to reset Wavetable’s Oscillator Transpose parameters to their default value by holding the Delete button and tapping the encoder on Push 2. It was not possible to reset Wavetable’s modulation amounts from Push.

When a clip’s loop position was changed from Push, the change was not reflected in Live’s UI. Notes in a track containing a Drum Rack were displayed in the wrong color on Push 2’s display. On Push 2, Clip Mode’s zoom overview occasionally did not include the entire region, and the playhead would fail to appear when an audio clip contained a section without any sample content.

It was not possible to delete the notes of a sequencer page in Slicing Mode on Push 1 and 2. The sequencer or loop selector pads would erroneously send mono-aftertouch or poly pressure messages. In the Arrangement, the “Reverse” command can now be performed on a time selection via the new “R” shortcut key. Also fixed a bug related to reversing samples. When using Reverse on a partially-selected clip in Arrangement, only the selected part is reversed.

It is now possible to deactivate, reverse and crop selected material within a time selection on an automation lane. Previously, the entire clip would be de activated, even if only part of it was selected. Arrangement clips can now be moved by dragging the upper half of the clip content area. The mouse cursor changes to a hand to indicate the clip’s draggable area, where time selections can also be made via a single-click. Previously, the shortcut could only enable the Arrangement Loop, but not disable it.

The file will be inserted either where at the Insert Marker position Arrangement View or in the currently selected empty clip slot Session View. Automation Implemented a global automation mode.

In the Arrangement, the visibility of all automation lanes is now toggled via the Automation Mode button or the “A” key. When the automation lanes are visible, the content lanes are minimized to the height of the clip headers. Clip fades are now always available in the content lane, if the track is at least three units tall.

It is now possible to split and consolidate material in a time selection also when the selection exists in an automation lane. In the Arrangement, this means that MIDI clips can only be created by double-clicking in the content lane.

When moving multiple segments within a time selection, snapping aligns at left or the right of the time selection, depending on which side of the time selection you start dragging.

A similar logic is also applied to single segments. Additionally, when hovering near segments the value for the aligned events is now shown. The automation value at the border of a time selection is also shown, regardless if a breakpoint exists, when hovering in proximity of a segment. While creating an automation breakpoint in a time selection, the time selection disappears, which enables moving the newly-created breakpoint.

When dragging automation breakpoints or segments, they now snap to existing breakpoint times. The “Shift” modifier is no longer required for moving automation segments past existing breakpoints.

When the grid is disabled, automation breakpoints now snap to breakpoint times and grid times if they are one pixel away. For breakpoints grabbed by the mouse, automation values are now displayed when hovering over a breakpoint, or dragging any of the following: an automation segment, a time selection automation segment, or multiple breakpoints in a time selection.

It is now possible to move automation segments horizontally. When breakpoints are created close to a grid line, they now automatically snap to the grid. A vertical editing helper line now appears when moving breakpoints in the Arrangement View or Detail View. Breakpoints are now quantized when they are moved. Introduced fade edge handles in the Arrangement, which allow users to change the duration of a fade in via the “Fade In Start Handle” and fade out via the “Fade Out End Handle” without affecting the fade peaks.

However, a fade edge cannot move beyond the the fade peak. Holding “ALT” while resizing one track now resizes all tracks in the current view. Browser It is now possible to display and search for uninstalled Packs within the browser, and install them from there. The Packs sidebar label now shows updates made to Packs.

Users can now download and install these updates. After restarting Live, previously downloaded Packs are now ready for installation, and partially-downloaded Packs can now resume downloading unless Live was restarted on a metered internet connection.

Colors can be assigned to items via context menu entries, or using the number keys for assigning colors, and 0 to reset. Multiple colors can be assigned to an item, but no more than three colors will be shown. New labels show all items tagged with their respective color.

Improved the behavior when using the “Locate” button to find a missing user folder. Previously, this would trigger a complete re-scan of the new folder, even if the contents were exactly the same as before, and also lose any colors assigned to items in the folder.

When previewing samples in the browser, samples less than 2. Samples longer than 2. The hierarchy of Group Tracks in a Live Set now appears in the browser. This allows dragging the contents of a Group Track into the current Live Set.

In the browser’s sidebar, it is now possible to rename user folder labels. Files can be dragged and dropped onto the User Library, Current Project and use folder labels directly.

Live now always listens to MIDI input on monitored tracks i. Live plays back the captured loop immediately, ready for you to add more material. If neither toggle is enabled, the Export button will be disabled.

Up to 10 old versions of the Set are stored in this folder. In Live’s browser, the current Set has “Show Old Version” context menu command, that points to its most recent backup version. When a backup version is loaded, it gets saved to the original location. When saving a Live Set, the undo history is no longer cleared. The original file and history position are remembered when creating, loading and saving a Live set and the information is used to restore the Live set after a crash.

Improved naming and sorting of recorded audio files, by attaching a timestamp to the filename. Added various changes for Windows – Live now supports the Jump List. Large Live Sets can now be closed times faster. Improved the speed of loading samples referenced by a Live Set.

This reduces the Live Set loading time considerably. Dropped support for The Bridge. Introduced the Live 10 color palette. Updated the appearance of clips in both Session and Arrangement View. Introduced a set of five new themes in place of the previously available Live “skins”.

It replaces the “AbsoluteMouseMode” option. Added new mouse cursors for resizing clips and dragging clip content in the Arrangement on Windows. Live’s dials and sliders are now rendered using real-time vector graphics rather than bitmaps. The result looks sharp and consistent at any zoom level. Added a “Assign Track Color to Clips” menu item to the context menu of track headers. When the command is used in the Arrangement View, it applies the track color to Arrangement View clips.

When used in Session View, it applies the color to Session View clips. Enabled sample dots on the waveforms. When zooming in, users can now more closely see where their samples are on the Time Ruler. Added several visual improvements for Windows: the second window now shows the same menu bar as the main window. When the Alt key is pressed, no letters in the menu bar are underlined anymore. Also, modal windows now come to the front if the window underneath is clicked.

Now, the Session View is resized in a fluid way, with no bouncing or quantization. Max for Live Improvements Max is now bundled in Live, and no longer requires an external installation. Live will always use the bundled version of Max. Max is now loaded at startup, instead of when the first Max device is used. Max for Live devices now support multiple audio inputs and outputs, which can be accessed via the track’s Input and Output Channel choosers.

Devices can also be routed to arbitrary tracks via the Live API. It is now possible to route devices and device chains to Max for Live devices. This both applies to both Arrangement and Session View.

It is now possible to route an individual Drum Rack pad’s audio output to one of its parent Drum Rack’s return chains. This allows these return chains to be used as mix buses. It is now possible to reset knob and slider control values to their default value by double-clicking them in the same way that the “Delete” keyboard shortcut works. The double-click gesture does not apply to toggles or action buttons.

Loop points are represented by vertical lines in the Note Editor. This minimizes all tracks, allowing you to see as many as possible on your screen. The action can also be triggered via the “S” shortcut. It is now possible to zoom to and back from time selection in Arrangement and in Detail View. It is now possible to zoom vertically and horizontally in the Arrangement View, using two-finger trackpad gestures or a mousewheel. It is now possible to scroll horizontally using the Shift modifier key also on WIndows.

When time is selected within an Arrangement clip, Detail View’s display now zooms in on the selected time. When making an edit in the Arrangement or Detail View, Follow is now paused instead of being deactivated. When paused, the Follow button changes from yellow to orange. When stopping or re-starting playback, or scrubbing, Follow starts again. Furthermore, Follow is also paused when scrolling horizontally in Arrangement.

Audio effects can now be dragged to the Master track’s Scene Launch area. Echo is a modulation delay that is capable of a wide range of sounds, from tape-saturated and bucket-brigade styles, right through to modern, clean and digital delays. Echo includes an LFO that modulates filter frequency and delay time, and an envelope follower that can be blended with the LFO. Also included are a distortion switch, a reverb, stereo width control, a ducking compressor, a gate, a feedback signal inversion switch, and a toggle for repitching and crossfading repeats.

Pedal is a guitar distortion effect, that can also be used in less conventional settings, e. Pedal has three different modes: Overdrive, Distortion and Fuzz. Each mode was inspired by distortion pedals with their own distinct sonic characteristics, including: warm and smooth, tight and aggressive, and bluesy yet broken. An analog-style drum processor, Drumbuss was designed to add body and character to a group of drums, while gluing them together in a tight mix.

Drumbuss combines the most used drum processing tools into a single device, which includes distortion, a compressor, low-frequency enhancement, a transient shaper and a control for dampening high frequency response. Furthermore, the layout has been redesigned to fit new features, including a Mono switch, a Bass Mono switch, a Bass Mono Frequency slider, a Bass Mono Audition button, and a Balance knob control which replaces the Panorama slider.

Older Sets will continue to sound the same due to an added legacy mode. Older Utility devices can be upgraded via a button in the title bar. When the command is used, the contained tracks and their respective clips inherit the Group Track’s color. This applies to both Push 1 and 2 as well.

In Track Mix Mode, either the pan dial or stereo pan sliders are shown, depending on the active pan mode. The Repeat button’s state and setting is now remembered for each track. It is now possible to arm a track with one hand via Push 2 by holding the respective track’s selection button.

Nested chains can now be displayed, folded and unfolded on Push 2. This prevents other important root level items like ‘User Files’ from being pushed off the screen by many Collection Labels. Added a new parameter layout and a graphical representation of the Activity View to Compressor on Push 2. It is now possible to configure a sidechain routing for Compressor from Push 2. Added a visualization of Simpler’s Envelopes to Push 2. Improved waveform drawing performance for Push 2.

The velocity of each note is also indicated by the note’s opacity.
