DVDs For Daily Workouts

We’re all trying to find ways to incorporate exercise into our busy schedules. If you’re looking for low-impact routines that are easy to repeat or full-body workouts with shorter time frames, the right workout DVD can make all the difference.

Denise Austin’s DVD includes a 12-minute routine that focuses on various areas of the body each day. Each part can be done independently or in a sequence to provide a complete body exercise. It’s an excellent choice for those who are new to fitness and want to ease into an exercise routine, or for those who are already active, but want to improve their endurance and strength.

The trainer who made her name known on the NBC show The Biggest Loser makes a bold promise: “Eliminate fat.” She’s not kidding; this three-DVD program, which includes two workouts lasting 10 minutes that will make you sweat. Do not worry if it’s not the appropriate level for you. Each session includes easier alternatives for those who can’t do more challenging movements.

Jane Fonda, 74, might not be the most appealing with her cheesy music or headband that resembles Richard Simmons. But her workouts are very effective. She performs the same exercises that she has used in her best-selling workouts, such as upper and lower body isometric exercises as well as exercises using hand weights. She also shows the correct form throughout.

One of the nastier aspects of this DVD is that a recent study by an University of Washington professor found that the models’ use highlighted imperfections in the body, with a lot of women’s bodies covered up. The DVD contains a 30-day healthy eating plan, and worksheets to help you reflect on your own.
