Microsoft outlook 2013 will not archive free download

To answer your question, I have attempted to archive both via auto archiving and manually, with the same problem both ways.

I should also add that this problem only began occurring after I switched from Widows 8 to Windows I was using Outlook with both systems.

Current status is the problem still exists. I had previously read the 2 articles you referenced, but repeated the manual archiving per the 1 st article, doing this with both a folder that had the error message and one that did not. I got the same error message, but now for both folders.

Regarding the 2 nd article, I assume all the messages in my Outlook account are IMAP since I did not have this problem with Outlook before switching to Windows Do you have any other suggestions? This appears to be a problem related to Windows You may also create a new profile, add the IMAP email account, then try to archive and verify the result. Refer to the following article for instructions on how to create a new profile. Reply with the result to help you further.

Hi Vardhaman – I created a new Outlook profile and added my 2 gmail accounts per the article you referenced. When I archived I again had multiple error messages and problems:. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. I finally manage to archive my emails by doing the following: Step1: Download all your emails from server. How satisfied are you with this reply?

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. The solution by Melon is more about correctly setting up the archive and does not address if items are not being archived. When I setup my newest archive I did as Melon suggested but as I’ve said numerous items that should have been archived are still in the Inbox. After ensuring I had correctly setup the archive fr and running it, in my Inbox I still had emails going back to As a test I manually moved everything prior to to my archive PST file.

Obviously I could manually move the items that have dates of , and to the respective archive files but this still does not resolve the issue. However in the interest of time on my part and not going down fruitless paths I may do the manual method.

I just checked and the Sent Items have a lot of old entries as well. Also the folders under the Inbox also have some old entries. In the Navigation Pane’s folder list, right-click the folder you want to change, and click Properties. The first time that you run Outlook, AutoArchive is on by default and runs every 14 days.

You can change how often AutoArchive runs, specify the Outlook data file. Archiving many items at the same time might slow down your computer’s performance. Therefore, it is good to choose a period of time that shortens the AutoArchive process. Consider how many items that you typically receive during a given time and adjust the timeframe accordingly.

Prompt before AutoArchive runs Choose this option if you want Outlook to display a reminder message before AutoArchive processes your Outlook items. When you see the message, you can click No to cancel that AutoArchive session.

Delete expired items e-mail folders only This option is not selected by default. You can choose to have e-mail messages deleted when their aging period has expired. The default period for your Draft and Inbox items is six months, and three months for your Sent Items, but you can change these periods using the Clean out items older than option.

Archive or delete old items You must choose this option if you want AutoArchive to delete some or all items when they expire. This option activates other options that enable you to decide which items are archived and which are deleted when they reach the end of the aging period.

Then choose additional settings to apply to both archiving and deletion. I actually have individual archive files for , , but when I open outlook in the left nav pane I only see archive Why don’t I see all of the archive files in the NAV pane?

Still the sum of the two do not equal the size of the Outlook. Should not the sum be a lot closer? This thread is locked.
