It popped up for the apps that normally open at start-up. Basically, a disaster. I don’t know what to make of it, since it behaved as such since powering the PC on. As far as I am aware, there were no updates or installs of new software. Similar topics with that error linked the problem to an update or lack of an update of an antivirus software.

I have AVG for antivirus duty, and Comodo for firewall duty. While Comodo is one of the rare apps that actually starts, not the same could be said of AVG. While restarting the PC in safe mode allows me to use all apps, I can’t update them or disable them to identify the bad guy from the pack. I am not sure where to look for a problem, in order to apply an existing solution. But I’d rather I didn’t have to resort to the almighty “perform a clean boot”.

Take note! If you are running the Dragon or Ice Dragon browser the Comodo Cloud Antimalware will install itself anytime without your permission. It will completely take over your computer by putting code in the registry that cannot be removed. Your common programs will not run as the error message 0xce5 will popup instead.

After removing comodo the errors didn’t appear anymore. I started getting this error after update to build I’m in the Insiders program.

I have a problem with removing. At the end of uninstall, i got an error with: “The windows Installer Service could not be accessed” I can’t do something, cuz’ my every application had 0xce5 error. This problem is coming after i install comodo Flame Pirate.

Comodo is gone but it still killed everything. I can’t even get Excel to run! How did you get rid of Comodo! This stuff is like ransomware and should be illegal.
